About Me

My parents bought their first home when I was 8 years old. I remember asking my father when we would be able to move into our new house. He said, “We need to wait until escrow closes.” Each night we drove by the new house, and I would ask again and again, and got the same answer. I started to get annoyed. “Who is this escrow character, and why can’t he hurry up so we can move into our house?” It is now my full-time job to make escrow “hurry up”. I understand that buying your first home can be very stressful, but I know that we can close your loan quickly and with the lowest stress levels and rates in the industry. For years, it was my job to train loan officers statewide to package loans for the banks. Take comfort knowing that your loan is being handled by a true professional with 17 years of experience. Knowledge breeds confidence and that leads to a stress-free transaction and most importantly, an accepted offer!

Outstanding Experience with Jay

Jay didn't just put together an amazing mortgage package for us, he put into place a mortgage plan that's saved us thousands of dollars. First, he found us a mortgage option with an outstanding rate. Then he found a way for us to pay less than the full 20% down in exchange for paying a PMI of about $120/month. Recently, when our property appreciated, he helped us go back to the bank for a BPO (kind of a re-appraisal-light) that showed our loan to value was now conforming, which knocked off our PMI. As an added bonus, the PMI company just sent us a check for over $2400 that we prepaid as part of the original mortgage package. We didn't even know that was coming! So we paid less than 20% down for our house, no longer to pay PMI, and just got a surprise check. Jay is not just a mortgage broker, but a true mortgage consultant who set us up with a great long-term mortgage plan that's saved us over $25,000. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED- FIVE STARS!

my dream home realized

I met Jay through my Realtor and I cannot sing his praises enough. Before meeting Jay, my experiences with lenders ranged from mediocre to terrible, so I was not expecting much. As a first-time home buyer, I would have been happy with someone who was competent and professional. Jay was both of those things and so much more. Jay understood my financial desires as well as my limitations. I had inherited some money but did not want to sink it all in the house; he understood this and explained everything to me thoroughly and, because I am not a financial wizard, repeatedly. Never one did I feel like he was exasperated with me or bored with our conversations. He created multiple scenarios (different rates, down payments, loans, life of loan, etc.) for me to examine, and he did this many times (I put bids on a number of houses before I got mine). He wrote letters for me on the fly (literally less than twelve hours before the bid was needed) because he wanted what was best. When it came time to close, Jay had given me a draft of what I was going to see, so I walked in without surprises and my close went smoothly. He was even there at my close. I feel what sets Jay apart from many lenders (and professionals in general) is that he cares. I never felt like a number or a nuisance. Jay is very personable and funny while maintaining his professionalism and financial expertise. He is prompt in responding (in all mediums) and willing to answer questions, regardless of how insignificant they may seem. While he may represent an institution, he never loses his humanity. He puts people first and that makes him not only great at his job but a better human being.

I have never purchased a home before, and was unsure of the process. Jay Sondhi was extremely helpful. There was a lot of information that was needed and explanations for my income, debt, and periods of non-employment, basically discrepancies. Jay understood all this and his patience with me for all the explaining of what I did not understand is something that truly impressed me.

My Review

Jay was a godsend when it came to getting my VA loan started, approved and funded. He kept things on track during a very chaotic transition period with his company but never once let things fall through the cracks. He is very knowledgeable concerning the VA process and a consummate professional. I cannot recommend him enough to anyone seeking a VA loan.

Jay is great!

Against my own plan to work directly with the bank, I took my realtor's advice to work with a mortgage broker. She referred me to Jay Sondhi and I was pleasantly surprised. Jay was super responsive, extremely knowledgeable, and so easy communicate with. Jay made the experience of purchasing my first home great, while locking me in a great interest rate!
